Barcelo Maya Tropical Hotel Xpu Ha, Xpu Ha

My stay at the Tropical was disappointing overall. The location is great, right by the beach, but the rooms need significant improvements and maintenance. While some staff were friendly, a few were rude, and the dining options could be much better. I had high expectations for an all-inclusive experience, but the limited food, drink choices, and poor service really put a damper on our vacation.

I had a great overall experience at the resort! The service was usually excellent, particularly at the restaurants, and I enjoyed the food immensely. However, the wait times and booking issues for dining were a bit frustrating, especially later in my stay when the resort got more crowded. While the beach was lovely and I enjoyed spotting turtles, the nightlife options felt limited after a while. Still, it’s a fantastic spot for those looking for a relaxing getaway, particularly if you're new to Mexico.

Our stay was quite enjoyable overall. The room was nice and comfortable, and while the dining experience had its ups and downs, we found some great meals at the a la carte restaurants. The pools were massive, perfect for lounging, but the service at the swim-up bars could be hit or miss. Despite a couple of drawbacks, we’d definitely consider returning.
